TALKING SOCKS
Ästhetische Erfahrung durch Partizipation an der Kunst
Das Kunstprojekt "TALKING SOCKS - Ästhetische Erfahrung durch Partizipation an der Kunst" basiert auf der Ästhetischen Theorie von Theodor W. Adorno. Praktisch beinhaltet das Konzept die Schaffung eines SPACE als Möglichkeitsraum für die Interaktion mit zeitgenössischer Kunst und den zwischenmenschlichen Austausch. Dieser SPACE wird ein 10-Fuß-Container sein, der auf dem Marktplatz in Wismar deponiert wird und die Funktion einer Ausstellungs- und Kommunikationsplattform übernimmt. Das Kunstobjekt wird eine Installation aus vereinzelten Socken sein, die vorab in der Wismarer Gemeinschaft gesammelt wurden und während der Ausstellungszeit gespendet werden. So sind Besucher:innen aufgefordert, sich aktiv an der Gestaltung zu beteiligen und die Socken in das Gesamtkunstwerk zu integrieren. Die einzelne Socke wirkt neben ihrem Dasein als Kunstobjekt auch als Kommunikationsgegenstand, denn in ihrer assoziativen Symbolik bietet sie einen bedeutsamen Interpretationsspielraum und damit viele Aspekte, die diskutiert werden können, wie zum Beispiel das Phänomen des "Sockenverschwindens", die Vereinsamung der Gesellschaft und die veränderte Partner:innensuche durch die Digitalisierung.
Das partizipative Kunstprojekt zielt darauf ab, die ästhetische Erfahrung als Reflexionsmöglichkeit zu fördern und gesellschaftliche Debatten zu initiieren.

The art project "TALKING SOCKS: Aesthetic experience through participation in art" is based on the Aesthetic Theory of Theodor W. Adorno. Practically, the concept involves the creation of a SPACE as a possibility space for interaction with contemporary art and interpersonal exchange.
This SPACE will be a funny wonderful red 10-foot container that will be deposited on the market square in Wismar and will assume the function of an exhibition and communication platform. The art object will be an installation made of sad lonely socks that have been collected in advance from the Wismar community and will be donated during the exhibition period.
Thus, visitors are invited to actively participate in the design and to integrate the socks into the overall work of art. In addition to its existence as an art object, the individual sock also functions as a communication object, because in its associative symbolism it offers a significant scope for interpretation and thus many aspects that can be discussed, such as the phenomenon of "sock disappearance," the loneliness of society, and the changed search for partners due to digitalization.
The participatory art project aims to promote the aesthetic experience as a possibility for reflection and to initiate social debates.
